Growing up

So, I don't think it's that big a deal, but Megan is insisting that I post about this whole graduation thing. I do have her to thank for getting through, so I guess I'll go with it.

Topher insisted that we adopt Jonathan Husky into our family, so expect him to show up in many more family pictures.

The ceremony was nice. Fortunately my cohort all sat together, so I had some good company to get through it.

For those unfamiliar with the program, I am indeed the lone dude. It's a living.

It was exciting to get my diploma (cover).

Can't you tell?

Topher's cheering was the most important to me though.

Now if only he wouldn't sit on the stairs like a vagrant.

Topher did really get into the spirit of things.

That is actually not true. This was a split second shot before he ripped it off. Pretend you don't know that, though, because it will screw up the next picture.

Wearing my cap really got Topher in the mood to dress up. From there it was time to try out this whole robes thing.

It sort of turned out like a Toga, though.

Apparently, now that I've graduated, it is time for the sillyness to end.

For example: There will be no more of this.

This is okay though.

The other big change since graduation is a lot more time to relax. Here is Topher's impression of my usual day since graduation:

"I'm doing research. Seriously."

Topher has been doing a lot of growing up himself.

Growing a mustache has been first on his list.

And grooming it second.

Another movie for you all.

Here is our latest masterpiece. Turns out Topher is a pretty big A Christmas Story fan:

And just so you all know, Topher has officially reached the Velociraptor Level of intelligence. Translation: He can now open doors. This is great.

Recent Adventures

So, within a few minutes of this post going live we will be going private. Thus, if you are reading this you are either stalking us or we actually like you. Congratulations either way. You must have an interesting life.

Things are still busy, but I wanted to go through and throw up some pictures that have been backlogged. The hope is that pretty soon here we will be able to get back to putting up some weekly adventures like we used to.

We've had a few nice days out this way. Where we think that summer will soon be upon us, we figure it is time to start getting Topher ready for action.

"I wanna pop" will go down as one of Topher's first sentences.

One popsicle has not been enough to contain him, though, so he's had to ramp up consumption.

Don't worry, the popsicles are sugar free. That face is all natural.

Recent days haven't been all popsicles and sunshine though. We have had some weird times.

It may be weird, but at least his hair is dry.

But I hope you don't think that that is the weirdest thing we've found recently.

Wha.....? We took this one in a children's museum. Go figure.

Topher has been getting into dinosaurs lately.

When you mix dinosaurs and cars, you get a Topher-joy overload.

Topher has been getting pretty crazy lately, though. Fortunately, we recently invested in an oversized hamster wheel.

A mother's dream.

Topher is a happy boy, though.

One smile just wasn't enough.

And just so you know, it got worse at the children's museum.

Happy Easter

Here is a video for Easter. Hope you all enjoy it.

Apparently giving him cars for Easter wasn't nearly as good of an idea as we thought it was.

Also, this will be our last public post. Next weekend we will go private. Again, this is not to avoid anyone except for spammers and pedophiles, so if neither of those labels apply to you, we are more than happy to invite you to the blog. If you haven't already let us know that you would like an invite, please do so within the next week. Also, there is just a little over a month of the semester left, so we should be back to blogging a little more regularly soon.

Important Announcement

Hi all,

So, after a few recent run-ins with Chinese spammers and hearing some horror stories of public blogs - in addition to a recent uptick in my internet paranoia in general (so long cookies!) - we've decided it's time for us to go private on the blog. Now, we want to make it clear that we are not doing this so certain people can't read the blog, just so that not just any one can read the blog. So please, leave a comment, shoot us an email, message us Megan on facebook, or just tell us in real life (gasp!). We really think it sucks that we have to do this, but that seems to be the way of things. We want everyone to be able to see the blog, so please ask, we will add you, no questions (except maybe "Do you speak English?").

Thanks everyone. We'll try to keep posting often. To keep you coming back, here is a picture of Topher's impression of me trying to get ready for church at 9 in the morning.

February Update

Hi All,

Here are a couple of videos so that we can show off Topher. First off, a little Valentine's clip (Thanks Curtis aunts!):

Next up, we don't know what crowd Topher has been running with, because we certainly didn't teach him this:

So, after all the cussing, we've had to have a lot of lessons about praying for forgiveness. He seems to be getting good at it.

Now we just need to figure out how to keep him off the table.

Enjoy it while it lasts

Hi Folks,

I wouldn't be expecting too many posts over the next few months as this semester has me busy enough that the majority of my extra time is spent making sure that Megan and Topher remember who I am. Megan will probably post now and then, but I probably won't until the summer. In the meantime, you can enjoy this video.
